FAQs

The questions everyone has, answered honestly.

If your question isn't here, ask it directly — no question about therapy is too basic or too awkward.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share in sessions stays between you and Megha, with rare legal exceptions (like an immediate risk of serious harm) that she’ll explain clearly in your first session — before you share anything.

How much does a session cost, and how long is it?

Sessions are 50 minutes. The fee is [fee to be confirmed] per session, payable per session — no packages or long commitments required. If cost is a genuine barrier, mention it when you reach out; it’s a normal conversation to have.

Are sessions online or in person?

Both are available. Online sessions happen over a private video call — many clients prefer them for the comfort of their own space. In-person sessions are held at Megha’s practice.

How do I know if I need therapy?

You don’t need a crisis or a diagnosis to deserve support. If something has been weighing on you for a while — sleep, mood, relationships, motivation — and talking to friends hasn’t shifted it, that’s reason enough. Therapy isn’t a last resort; it’s a place to understand yourself sooner rather than later.

What happens in the first session?

Mostly, you talk and Megha listens. She’ll ask gentle questions about what brings you in and what you’d want to be different — there’s nothing to prepare and no right way to answer. The first session is also for you to decide whether it feels like a good fit. You’re not committing to anything beyond that hour.

Do my parents have to know I'm in therapy?

If you’re 18 or older, no — therapy is confidential, and whether you tell anyone is entirely your choice. If you’re under 18, the rules around consent are a little different; reach out anyway and Megha will explain honestly what would and wouldn’t be shared before anything begins.

How many sessions will I need?

There’s no fixed number, and you won’t be pushed into more than you need. Some people come for a few sessions around one specific thing; others stay longer to work on deeper patterns. You and Megha will check in regularly about how it’s going, and you can pause or stop at any time.

What if it doesn't feel like a fit?

Then say so — honestly, it’s fine. The relationship between you and your therapist matters more than any technique, and a good therapist wants you to find the right person even if it isn’t them. If it’s not a fit, Megha can point you toward other therapists or approaches that might suit you better.

Still wondering about something?

Ask it in a message — Megha answers questions before you ever commit to a session.
